Houses in Multiple Occupation

2006 saw the start of a mandatory licensing scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation. 'HMOs' are those properties that consist of :

    • three or more storeys
    • five or more tenants in two or more households
    • shared facilities such as kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

If you are uncertain if you own a property that will need to be licensed, or you need assistance in making the application, contact us on 01202 444 546 or e-mail jpayne @hlf-law.co.uk
